In an effort to let families have the opportunity to tell others about their experiences in our writing courses, we invite you to send your comments and testimonials to us at office@writeguide.com.  Our company doesn't advertise, and so we depend entirely upon the friendly recommendations of our current students and families when it comes to promoting our courses.  Any kind words you have to share about your experience will therefore be most appreciated!  E-mail addresses and personal contact information will not be posted; your anonymity will be respected and preserved.  Comments will be posted on this page within 24 hours of receiving them, below this paragraph.

We have now been using WriteGuide for one year.  We have been very pleased with our experience.  Three of our children, 11th grade, 9th grade, and 6th grade are currently enrolled and we have had excellent consultants, Mrs. Dunnan and Mrs. Wolfe.  Both have shown so much concern and enthusiasm for my children’s writing.  It has been fun to watch them develop a relationship through their daily e-mails with my children reflecting their three very different personalities:  One is like a trusted friend casually sharing experiences, and humor.  Another more reserved child, a different respectful approach, and the third child somewhat in between.   They praise in abundance, and give wonderful helpful guidance, direction, and correction.  They are able to get out of my kids what I had difficulty getting in the complete writing and editing process, as well as giving instruction I didn't feel qualified to on MLA format etc.   I feel so fortunate to have found WriteGuide and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a program to teach, encourage, promote, and perfect the writing process in their children.

When my 11 year-old son started WriteGuide last year, I worried that the instructor assigned to him might throw up her hands in despair due to son's feeble attempts at writing.  He hated writing and it showed.  I half expected that his first piece of writing would result in immediate expulsion from the program.

Not wanting the task of keyboarding to interfere with my son's introduction to WriteGuide, I agreed to transcribe his first few writing assignments from handwritten documents to the computer.  His first effort was a single run-on sentence, continuing on for almost a page.  My stressed fingertips blanched as I typed.  Not only were my son's ramblings replete with grammatical and spelling errors, they were stylistically horrifying, too.  I was tempted to edit his work to assuage my deep sense of embarrassment, but decided to let it all hang out.  I couldn't help think to myself, "What will poor Mrs. Cevela do with this disjointed, mangled piece of writing?"  I found myself feeling sorry for her.

Well, now a year later, my son has mended his illiterate ways due to Mrs. Cevela's gentle guidance.  In fact, in less than a year's time, his relative weakness in writing and language arts has turned into his outstanding strength.  He also enjoys writing, taking to the task with confidence and creativity.

As a sixth-grader last spring, he took the Woodcock-Johnson test of academic achievement.  Much to my surprise, he scored at the twelfth-grade level on writing-related subtests.  Unlike most tests of this sort, the Woodcock-Johnson is a progressive test, which continues from one grade level to the next until the student is unable to go further.  As such, the test provides meaningful grade level assessments.  Consequently, my son is actually able to write at an advanced grade level, despite last year's seeming lack of promise.

Before beginning WriteGuide, I was concerned that a formal writing program might stifle my son's unique voice.  In my opinion, his slightly off-center way of seeing the world is actually an asset.  I fretted at the thought that a writing teacher might want to wring his personality out of his writing.  Well, that worry was a total waste of time.  His writing is freer than it's ever been because he now has the tools to write what he wishes.  He no longer labors over language mechanics, settling for an inferior way of expression simply because he can't figure out how to put his ideas down on paper.  Now he can think it and write it.  Life is good!

Mrs. Cevela has effectively taught him many writing conventions, along with expanded ways of looking at the world.  Her emphasis on including sensory detail and internal dialogue in his creative writing has added greater dimension and interest to his work.  Even HE has marveled at the transformation of some of his writings from mediocre to dynamite through use of these methods.  As a parent, I couldn't be happier to witness this miraculous change in my son's writing!

With gratitude,

Linda LaRue

I feel like I have stumbled in to a gold mine or something!  As a home school mom, I have struggled to guide my children in learning all their subjects.  Writing was the one I neglected the most.  My 15 yr. old managed to get in to college, but his writing skills were just barely passing for college level (as opposed to math and reading comp. etc.).  I worried how he would do writing the papers that are required in most classes.  In just a few months, my son has become very organized in his writing.  So far, he has been able to write a good paper for his American History class and a good speech for his Public Speaking class.  At a time when my son would rather learn from someone else rather than mom, I am so grateful to Mrs. Hilton, his tutor, for helping him in such a clear and concise manner.  There are many more good things that I could say, but I don’t have the time.  That brings up another reason I like WriteGuide.  They do what I don’t have time to do at this time in my life.

Thanks,

Carol Peacock

Dear WriteGuide,

I cannot express the enthusiasm my 4th and 3rd grade sons get each time they write their consultant Mrs. Lovett.  and how much they enjoy reading what she has written and requested of them.  My sons where absolutely afraid of writing and had know idea how to even start.  Mrs. Lovett has done such a wonderful job walking each of  them through each step of writing a paper.  Now they both can't wait to start their next report.

Thank you for such a wonderful program,

The Andrews Family,
Jenny, Kyle and Cody

As parents of a home school family educating six children at once we are always looking for good resources that can help out in the areas where we are weak.  One of those areas is writing. We are so glad that we have found the Write guide program.  We have found it to be a professional, prompt and practical program. Professional in that the teachers are more than qualified, prompt in that their response to the assignments sent it is always timely, and practical in that they challenge our children, but do not overwhelm them in the assignments.  Amazingly we are finding that our children are actually enjoying writing.

Gene and Suzie Humphrey

I am very pleased with Mrs. Wolfe’s work as my sons writing instructor. She is always kind and encouraging and explains things in a way that makes it easy for him to write well. In fact I am looking to continue with your writing program for the entire year not just the three months we've signed up for and I would like to continue using Mrs. Wolfe as our consultant.

Dear Mr. Ludwig,

I do want to give some feedback on the consultants we have worked with.

Mrs. Dunnan:

My daughter, Kerstin, was so pleased with the help of her writing consultant.  She found Mrs. Dunnan to be very encouraging and enthusiastic.  As Kerstin worked on a very lengthy writing project, she found Mrs. Dunnan's daily comments to be very motivating.  At times Kerstin grew weary of this long-term project, and sometimes became discouraged; but Mrs. Dunnan was both a friend and encourager, and kept Kerstin going.  Both Kerstin and I were so grateful for Mrs. Dunnan's cheerful help.  Kerstin was sad to see her time with Mrs. Dunnan come to an end when Mrs. Dunnan's maternity leave began.

Mrs. Hilton:

My son, Peter, a high school senior, has done well in writing in our home school, but writing was not a favorite subject.  However, as we began a writing program with Mrs. Hilton, Peter's outlook changed.  He was enthused from the first day, I believe, and has continued to remain excited about his writing projects with Mrs. Hilton.  Mrs. Hilton has given clear, appropriate daily assignments, and has offered constructive comments and encouragements.  She has suggested projects which appeal to Peter.  Already this fall he has tackled a variety of interesting assignments.  I am more than pleased with Mrs. Hilton's help. Peter is learning a great deal, and Mrs. Hilton seems to know exactly how to guide Peter each day.

Mrs. Olt:

My daughter Kerstin has summed up the strengths of her writing  consultant, Mrs. Olt, as "knowledgeable, structured, and encouraging."   We both have been very pleased with Mrs. Olt's help.  Although my  daughter prefers long writing projects,  Kerstin desired this year to  try some shorter pieces of writing, and Mrs. Olt has been an excellent guide in this.  She has helped Kerstin to focus on correcting some of  her weaknesses, and yet she has also encouraged Kerstin in her  strengths.  Kerstin has been able to complete a number of shorter  projects.  Mrs. Olt has provided her with constructive comments all along the way, and even helped Kerstin with research on occasion.   Thank you, Mrs. Olt!

Dear Mr. Ludwig,

We are extremely happy with the quality of help we are receiving. We get prompt thorough replies to emails and a lot of very specific comments and guidance for the writing.

Mrs. Hilton has worked with us to give the level of guidance required for a ninth grader attempting some complicated writing assignments and goes step by step without overwhelming the student. She usually focuses on improving one aspect of the writing at a time, but is able to guide the student along so that the assignment gets completed also. Overall we are quite pleased with the arrangement.

Probably the best thing about the situation is that my son willingly does the work for Mrs. Hilton. This is something he has never done before. I wouldn't say he enjoys writing now, but he is self motivated to work on the assignments. A worthy start!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Gee

I was much impressed by WriteGuide's clear guidelines of web-behavior with regard to their service.  I am very reluctant to use on-line programs, and WriteGuide won my confidence with their standards.

Our on-line instructor was consistently professional and patient with both me and my students as we learned a new routine.

This on-line program was the interim I needed to refresh and renew our home-based writing instruction.

Thank you, Mrs. Olt, for your encouraging manner to me and our students,  I
appreciated your cheerfulness.

Mrs. Pinegar

Dear Mr. Ludwig:

Just wanted to drop a quick note to express my appreciation for Mrs. Folan.  She was my daughter's writing consultant in November.  We were totally pleased with her and the course.  She was very prompt with her e-mails and offered her suggestions in an encouraging, non-intimidating manner.  In just one month, we saw our daughter's motivation and enthusiasm for writing improve.  While we will be taking off the month of December for the holidays, we will definitely be registering again for the new year.

 Sincerely,

Jane Lahovski

There are a number of reasons that I like using WG with my children. It allows me to share the responsibility of teaching and evaluating my kids' writing. I like being able to have a consultant walk them through the steps of a writing project (especially research papers!) from start to finish.  It gives me more time each day for other things, and it gives me peace of mind that they're learning to write with good technique. I'm still involved in the writing process they go through to complete their projects, but  the kids enjoy having a different audience, someone who's a real writer. Having a consultant to talk to about my children's writing gives me some perspective on their strengths and weaknesses; it helps me to be more realistic and confident about my teaching and their writing.

My only complaint about WG is that you guys are too nice to the kids (your level of niceness to the parents is perfect- don't change a thing!). My children need a proverbial kick in the pants sometimes when they're being lazy writers, but WG consultants never do that (I don't blame you; you might get sued for cyber child abuse; plus, then the kids wouldn't be as enthusiastic about corresponding).

Sincerely,
Therese Wall

Dear Write Guide,

My children and I have so enjoyed using this program; it has definitely been a highlight to our school year. The personal instruction and flexibility to work with each of my children at their own level was wonderful. The lessons were step by step and definitely helped them to gain confidence as writers. My children so looked forward to hearing from their teacher each day as well as writing their response back to them.  I felt that the exercise of communicating with their teacher solely by writing was an excellent exercise in written communication as well.

In my daughter's own words she says, "I've never had so much fun writing before and looked forward to receiving a response from my teacher each day. My teacher was so encouraging and really helped me in developing the areas in writing that I struggled with the most. Knowing what areas I usually made mistakes in, made it a lot easier to find things that needed correction when writing and checking my work for errors. I can't wait to use the program again and find the many things that I learned very helpful as I work on school each day."

You have been such a pleasure to work with and have always been so prompt and helpful in answering my questions along the way.  Both my children and I are very pleased with the results of this program and look forward to using it again in the future.

Very Sincerely,

Delynne Hahn

Dear WriteGuide;

We love working with Mrs. Lovett.  She is affirming and positive in her directions.  She is clear and concise and gives great examples of what she is looking for.  Her language arts skills are well developed and she is catching areas of weakness as well as strengths in my children's writings.  Her assignments are "doable" and in realistic proportion for kids who are in homeschool and usually have a busier than "normal" academic life.

Mrs. Lovett is able to keep my son, the prolific writer, growing as well as my daughter who has significant struggles in the area of writing and language arts.

We feel like we know her somehow.  She is warm and personable and seems like she could be a part of our family.  Come to think of it - she is because of her investment in the lives of our children.

Thank you for WriteGuide and the opportunity to work with Mrs. Lovett.

Vicki Gronseth

We are so enjoying working with Mrs. Wolfe on a research report. She is enthusiastic and encouraging as she guides my 12-year-old daughter through this process. I look forward to reading the finished product!

Our family has used WriteGuide for over 7 months.  We've had 3 different tutors and all were very helpful and encouraging.  Mrs. Lovett helped transform my high school daughter's pathetic critical book report into a well researched and documented paper.  It was this paper that my daughter submitted as a writing sample to be awarded the position of NYS Assemblywoman intern.  Later in the spring, Mrs. Dunnan helped my daughter prepare for the SAT 2 Writing Exam while also encouraging my younger daughter to write an autobiography.  This fall, Mrs. Wolfe continued the training begun in spring.  What impresses me most is the encouraging comments the tutors provide to engage each student.  Even if what the student has written is horrible, they find something positive on which to build.  My one daughter who is especially timid in having "strangers" reading her thoughts, came away from the experience excited.  WriteGuide's instructors are wise in what they choose to correct.  I am not.  Thank God for WriteGuide!

 Mrs. Long

Dear Mr. Ludwig,

We were so pleased with how simple, yet thorough, the writing process could be when we used WriteGuide!  My son's teacher, Mrs. Cevela, walked him through one easy step at a time so that a previously dreaded subject is now much clearer and easier for him to complete without agonizing over each part or getting bogged down during organization of the paper.  The examples of what he should be hoping to achieve are clear, yet challenging, and Mrs. Cevela has been universally enthusiastic which helps keep him motivated to write the next portion of his assignment.  We never thought writing could be so painless.  Thank you for your program.

 Mrs. Wiley

Dear WriteGuide,

We are now close to the end of our first 3 months with WriteGuide and Mrs. Olt and I can say that it has been a wonderful experience.  My lack of writing abilities caused me to look for an alternative outside of our home for writing instruction for our 12 year old daughter Megan.  Megan loves to write and I did not feel qualified to evaluate her writings.  Mrs. Olt has the ability to stretch my daughter in her writing that I would never be able to do.  She knows the right questions to ask to get Megan to think about what she is putting on paper.  They have worked on several different kinds of writing such as a fictional story, a book review as well as a writing curriculum.  Megan's fictional piece is an on going story that I can not wait to read when it is completed.  For the book review, Megan chose A Wrinkle in Time which is one of her favorite books and authors.  The questions Mrs. Olt ask Megan really gets Megan to thinking about the book and the style it is written in which will also help Megan in her writing... something I could never have done!

We are looking for many more projects with Mrs. Olt and all that they might accomplish together.

Sincerely,

The Kizzort Family

We are delighted with the Write Guide program!  The consultant is knowledgeable, inspiring, helpful and encouraging.  The daily feedback in the program keeps our student on track without feeling overwhelmed.  Objectivity is never lost in the process, by the consultant, which is something that I struggled to retain as a parent.  I highly recommend Write Guide to anyone that needs assistance and feedback for their writing.

Dear Mr. Ludwig,

This is the second time that we have used Write Guide.  I love it.  Last year we had Ms. Harrod and she was wonderful.  This year we have Mrs. Wolfe as an instructor and we think she is fantastic as well.  Writing is not my strong point and so I am grateful that there is a program available to not only help my daughter learn important writing skills, but also help me improve mine.  Mrs. Wolfe does a great job of explaining things so that they are easy to understand and always leaves the door open for questions if there is something we need clarified.  We are very happy with your program.

 Sincerely,

Stacie Thornton

Dear Write Guide,

We are finishing our 2nd month with the Write Guide program and can definitely say that we are pleased. Since our son was entering 9th grade, we were anxious to try this new e-mail approach. At first our son was a little reluctant about corresponding with someone he did not know, but to his surprise, he has truly enjoyed his writing consultant, Mrs. Olt. She not only gives him assignments and evaluations, she also adds a personal touch to the messages. Garrett looks forward to the e-mail from her each day along with the next writing assignment. I appreciate that Mrs. Olt is encouraging, timely, very helpful, and personal. Garrett has always enjoy writing, but this has enabled him to take it to the next level. The Write Guide program has provided us a knowledgeable outside resource to critique his writing without having to leave our home. I have been telling all our friends about this wonderful program!!

Sincerely,
Denise Linscombe

I have been so pleased with the instruction Mrs. Hilton has been providing my two children, grades 6 and 7. Neither has had much success with writing previously. I was absolutely amazed when I assigned my 7th grader a short essay this week, and she was able to complete a concise, well-written essay
with minimal effort!

I have been especially impressed with Mrs. Hilton's ability to work with the kids at their level. Although my younger child still hates to write, he has been completing his assignments, and I see some improvement. Thanks so much!

Sonja Becker-Boelter

Dear Write Guide,

I am very pleased with the work my daughter has done working with Mrs. Wolfe.  She has taught Kelsey a complicated process in very simple steps.  My daughter is confident with each step because of the instruction she has been given.  It is a delight to have such wonderful help in teaching her.

Thank you,

Gabrielle Knox

Dear Friends at WriteGuide:

We have had the WriteGuide service for almost a month now.   I am very happy with the comments we have received from our writing consultant.   She is very familiar with the Writing Strands exercises.   I have three children ages 16 (Writing Strands 6), 14, and 12 (both in Writing Strands 4).   Each morning I send in some kind of written work to our writing consultant:   first drafts of completed Writing Strands assignments or chapters of stories they are writing.  Each evening I print out her response, read it, and pass it on to the child it is addressed to.   They receive lots of descriptive, positive feedback from her, and if there is a problem such as not quite following the directions, something that was left out, or something that doesn't make sense, etc., that is pointed out too.  Sometimes a child receives only positive feedback, and she tells them to go on to the next assignment.

Two of my children love to write stories and my oldest is aiming for publication of the fantasy stories he is working on now.  He's been sending her two completed chapters a day.  She has been very favorably impressed with his work.  It's great for him to get feedback from someone besides Mom.    She has also brought up some things that he might want to change, which is a great help to him.  My daughter, who also writes stories, was happy to discover I had signed up for another month of service.

I still work closely with each child as much as I can, and often the assignments the children send in have already been read to Mom and improvements made.   With this service I have the help of someone with expertise who always encourages my children and helps them to improve their writing.

We are very pleased with the WriteGuide program. Mrs. Olt has been quite flexible and her scope of knowledge is truly impressive.  Our 10 year old son looks forward to her constructive and timely critiques. He actually enjoys revising and correcting his work! I would recommend this program to anyone who seeks quality writing instruction at a reasonable price.

Sincerely,

The Cannavo Family

We have been most pleased with this program and with Mr. Leonardo. First, the flexibility has been most important to us because of the computer problems. We can only get Jacob on here at night and at times even that is not possible. Just knowing there is no pressure has been a great help. Also, Mr. Leonardo has walked Jacob through his paper without pressure. There is not too much to write in one session so it is easy to accomplish the requested task. Mr. Leonardo has been very patient and kind in his remarks, especially when he needed to correct something Jacob had written. His directions are clear so that Jacob knows exactly what he needs to do.  My husband and I feel that our son is having a great writing experience and hope to have other children take the course in the future.

Sincerely,
Julie LaMotte

My 12-year old son is benefiting greatly from his WriteGuide consultations.  He likes having his own "consultant" and is making marked progress in his writing style.  I appreciate Mrs. Hilton's method of taking it one step at a time with him.  He doesn't find the feedback overwhelming and has stopped complaining about writing.  The communication via e-mail has been a plus for him too because it is saved in his box for reference if he needs it.  Before WriteGuide, when I would instruct him on things verbally, I would overwhelm him with everything at once due to time constraints.  He had a tendency to get defensive with me and to forget comments and suggestions.  In fact I like so much the way Mrs. Hilton does it, that when I now have a comment to make on his writing, I send him an e-mail mimicking Mrs. Hilton's tone, addressing just a few things at a time.  My son says that I'm turning into Mrs. Hilton.  Now, that's a compliment!

With Gratitude,

B. Dobrozsi, Ohio

My daughters, who are 10th and 7th graders, have used your program for last few months. When they first started, I wanted them to develop a habit of putting their thoughts into writing on a regular basis. Another benefit I had in mind was that they would receive guidance and help in the process. We were looking for a professional who could show my children how to put their thoughts into writing one step at a time, and to provide comments on the finished product as well. Your program met our needs perfectly. It worked better than I thought it would. My children's writing consultant  was knowledgeable, and they could get help almost any time they needed. I would recommend your program to my friends and neighbors.

My daughters and I very much appreciated Mrs. Olt.  She communicates clearly and plainly, so that my daughters can understand exactly what to do with their projects. She guides them one or a few steps at a time. She encourages them and gives them positive comments on what they wrote and shows them how to make it better.  Whenever my daughters get a response from her, they feel good about their work.  Her responses are always prompt and friendly. She communicates to my children not only as an instructor but as someone who cares. Thank you, Mrs. Olt!

Sincerely,

S. Ahn

Mrs. Wolfe has walked my 8th grader step by step through a method of report composition in the MLA style, a style of writing that he will most certainly be expected to know in college.  The system she has taught him is simple and streamlined, and has helped him to organize his thoughts and notes as he goes along.  We are both looking forward to learning from her some of the other types of reports, including how to organize and write a research paper as well as a "compare and contrast" paper.  I believe this knowledge will be invaluable to him during his college career and even beyond.

Dear WriteGuide,

I am so pleased with the WriteGuide program.  My daughter is a competition gymnast and we have chosen to home school her for the last two years.  Last year we didn't make much progress in the writing area.  I know how vital writing is for every subject she encounters now and will encounter in her future.  Without the baby steps of practice along the way, I was afraid she would not be able to write effective papers .

I have come to realize how very personal writing is to an 11 year old girl.  My suggestions were taken to heart.  Writing is very subjective!  I could not motivate her to write!  I tried many suggestions from friends and teachers before I gave up.  I felt that it was more important that I remain her friend than have a conflict about getting her to write.  I knew I needed an outsider to work with my daughter.  I researched many avenues, most needed my guidance.  A personal tutor was very expensive, and took up a large amount of time in traveling there and back.  When I found WriteGuide, I was very excited!  Mrs. Lovett has managed to motivate her without overwhelming her.  The responses are very friendly and informative.  We are often not able to correspond every day, and there is absolutely no pressure to do so.  We also like that it can be done at any time of the day or night.  WriteGuide has taken the pressure and worry off of me.

Thank you Mrs. Lovett & WriteGuide!

Sue Bases

We have been so pleased with Mrs. Olt for an instructor this year.  She is very encouraging and positive even when giving corrections.  As a parent, I have noticed that she gives our daughter specific details as to what is wrong with a certain area of writing and then gives an example to show the right way.  I only wish I could have had someone like Mrs. Olt to help me when I was in High School.  It wouldn't have felt like I was going into WWIII alone.  WriteGuide has been exactly what I have been looking for -
for probably five years!  Thanks so much.

Elaine Fall

Though we're new to WriteGuide, our 11th grade daughter has enjoyed having Mrs. Olt's feedback on her writing. Mrs. Olt took the time to get to know Jordan , which made her feel excited about sending in her work. Her comments have been positive and constructive, and Jordan has been able to work in her areas of interest. From a teaching mom's point of view, Jordan had reached the point in her writing where I was running out of ideas! It has been wonderful to have someone to guide her.

Thanks!

Mrs. Frey

Dear WriteGuide,

We are pleased with the fact that your system allows our eleven-year-old to advance in her writing skills with very little pressure. The daily guidance you provide makes the process painless. This is a good system for reluctant writers.  Mrs. Cevela's positive attitude and friendly teaching style are indispensable. Our daughter feels very comfortable taking risks in her writing while working with her

Sincerely,

The Neal Family

I just wanted to write and say how very happy we are with the WriteGuide program.  Mrs. Hilton encourages our daughter with every e-mail.  Already Kellie is writing with more confidence than ever before.  Thank you very much for offering this program.

Sincerely,

Michelle Mullican

Many parents who are homeschooling have a difficult time teaching their children how to gain superior writing skills. This is due to many factors, including our own perceived inadequacies and lack of training, time constraints, and perhaps a certain hesitancy about how to level constructive criticism when reviewing a piece of writing. All of these factors were operative in our attempts to impart this critical skill to Gina, our seventeen year old very bright daughter. It became clear that we needed help to accomplish the goals we had set in terms of writing and critical analysis. I spent a good deal of time looking for a resource, including soliciting help from my three older daughters who had BA’s in English from Wake Forest and UNC. It was still difficult to maintain a consistent approach.  Fortuitously, we came upon WriteGuide. With the help of Mrs. Olt, a writing professional who offers gentle, constructive and well-received criticism, Gina is becoming a more confident, organized and adept writer. Mrs. Olt has established a very good working relationship with my daughter. I feel as if Gina has a university trained English professor as her private tutor. Their program is wonderful and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to maximize their child’s writing skills.

As a homeschooling parent, I was very relieved to find WriteGuide and Mrs. Lovett.  My daughter Britny is a very bright child, but writing was like pulling teeth.  I was always met with resistance each time I tried to get her to write.  WriteGuide shifted that pressure off of me.  Britny  willingly wrote each day.  Mrs. Lovett assigned a very reasonable amount each day.  Britny wasn't overwhelmed, so she didn't dread it.  Yet Mrs. Lovett seemed to have a balance and ability to "push" her just a bit.  As a more "math" oriented person, I haven't felt like a great English teacher.  I appreciate the corrections that Mrs. Lovett points out, as well as the great examples of each technique. Britny's writing has improved greatly over the last year. I am thrilled, and so is she.

Thanks,

Kym Casperson

My 12 year old daughter began using WriteGuide about 8 months ago. At the time I was home schooling her, I found I did not have a clear way to explain and evaluate her writing. Her writing skill was evaluated and discovered she was a year behind her grade level. I was desperate for someone to help us. Mr. Leonardo through WriteGuide came to our rescue. My daughter had no confidence in her writing skills at all. She would sit in her chair for hours trying to figure out how to start her writing projects. When she began this new adventure thru email, she was encouraged to participate. Mr. Leonardo took her through painfully patient baby steps on how to put together a research paper. It is the best experience she has ever had in learning to write any kind of paper. After a few months of working with Mr. Leonardo, she was retested and is now at grade level. She is very comfortable in any writing she does now.

My daughter is now enrolled in a private school and requested  she still be allowed to consult with Mr. Leonardo on all of her writing assignments. We have enrolled her through WriteGuide for her entire school year. We are very grateful for all WriteGuide has done for us. Thank you Mr. Leonardo.

I have been very pleased with the feedback that my 13 year old son had received from Mr. Leonardo.  He had been timely and extremely helpful by prompting my son in a gentle way, but very specifically with pointers and questions. He helps to organize my son's thought's  and brings out the "writer " in him. I am grateful and would recommend his tutoring to anyone who wants an excellent teacher.  Sincerely, a very happy Mom

I have been very pleased with the instruction Mrs. Olt has provided for my son.  Her instruction has been extremely helpful and encouraging.   She has a special way about her.  Her ability to encourage him in his writing while providing detailed instruction and direction has been extremely beneficial to him.

Dear Write Guide:

Just a quick note to let you know how very happy we are with the guidance and teaching expertise of your consultant, Mrs. Olt.  My daughter is an enthusiastic writer who enjoys all types of expositions but is currently involved in writing a novel on the English Reformation.  Mrs. Olt’s critique and suggestions have kept Kalynn on target to try to complete this short novel for possible publication.  We consider it a great privilege for Kalynn to be working with a teacher of this caliber.

Sincerely,

Ann Webster

We just started using WriteGuide  last year and loved it.  It has been a wonderful experience for my two daughters.  We were blessed to have Kelly Lovett as the girls' teacher. She has a style that works very well with both of them.  She is very knowledgeable and has taught the girls so much.  She critiques them without them even realizing it because she is so very encouraging.  We loved her so much, we requested her again this  year and were thrilled to have her again.

Sincerely,

Dear Mr. Ludwig,

We are very pleased with the progress our daughter is making.  She is actually enjoying writing now!  Mr. Leonardo is very gentle in his manner and  motivating her to excel with his positive correction.  His experience and knowledge in this field have been a tremendous blessing because he can fill a gap that we cannot completely fill as teaching parents.  His instruction is very thorough and she is blossoming under his tutelage.  We have already recommended Write Guide to many of our homeschooling friends who have in turn enrolled in Write Guide.

Thank you for providing such a wonderful tool for us homeschooling families!

Mrs. Cevela has been very good with my grandson.  She has put forth extra effort to keep him encouraged and interested and has been more than willing to go along with the goals we had in his home schooling program.

Dear Mr. Ludwig,

We are thrilled with WriteGuide! Our fourteen year old son is working with Mr. Leonardo this year. He enjoys the prompt feedback from his consultant. Mr. Leonardo is flexible with the writing projects. This has allowed our son to gain experience writing in a number of areas. Mr. Leonardo is precise and holds our son to high standards in an encouraging and fun manner.

Thank You!

Our 12 and 14 year-olds receive writing instruction from Mr. Leonardo.  We have found the instruction to be consistently excellent from the beginning.  I have been particularly surprised and pleased with the quantity and detail of the direction that my children receive each day, and with its careful tailoring to their particular projects.  It is clear that Mr. Leonardo is not simply marching through a series of pre-determined steps -- assigning the next step each day.  Rather, he draws on his expertise in writing to present a series of comments and tasks that are highly appropriate to the current project, the particular child, and the time available for the completion of each project.  The WriteGuide program truly provides detailed and expert writing instruction for an astonishingly reasonable price.  We are completely satisfied.

Dear Mr. Ludwig,

I'm pleased to say that my daughter Donna is enjoying writing to Mrs. Lovett.  They have been corresponding for about a month and Donna's writing is already showing improvement. It is very encouraging to see Donna writing with a positive attitude, and not a defensive one. Donna and I are both learning from Mrs. Lovett's suggestions, corrections and guidance. We are thankful for WriteGuide.

Sincerely,
Erika and Donna
