What's a Writing
Consultant?
Writing consultants
are the teachers who
conduct our writing courses, and who provide our Evaluations. We call them "consultants"
instead of "teachers" because as a homeschool parent, you
are your
child's primary teacher, and our writing consultants take their direction from you.
Don't misunderstand us: our teachers are
master teachers, and are among the best in the world. We want to avoid
giving the impression that when you enroll your child with us, you are no longer
essential to the teaching process. On the contrary, we hope you'll be
deeply involved in your child's learning throughout the entire course.
Our writing consultants are
required to meet the following minimum criteria.
First,
a writing consultant
must hold a bachelor's degree in a field related to the study of
English or
writing.
Second,
our consultants
must hold a master's degree
in a field related to English or writing.
Third,
our
consultants must have a significant amount of teaching
experience.
Our consultants have taught in the public schools, private schools, and at the
university level.
Fourth,
all
our consultants must be published
writers.
Fifth, all our consultants
must practice
The WriteGuide Method, the
teaching philosophy developed by our company.
Please visit our About Us
page for detailed profiles of some of our writing consultants.
(Note: WriteGuide.com is often looking
for qualified writing consultants. If you might be interested in working
with us,
please drop us an e-mail at office@writeguide.com.)
